I Didn't Know These Are Slowly Destroying My Scrapbooks!

Once you spend your precious time and energy creating a
scrapbook, make sure it lasts! There are a few simple
things you can easily do to ensure that your scrapbooks look
just as good as the day you finished them, for years to
come.

The first thing to avoid is paper that is not lignin-free.
You've probably heard that before, and it is true, but what
is lignin anyways? Lignin is a stiff component of a plant
that quite literally holds it together. Although lignin is
necessary for plants and trees, you want nothing to do with
it! After a while, lignin will cause photos, fabrics and
other paper that touch it to turn brown. Yes, lignin-free
paper does cost more, but it is a vital part of preserving
your cherished scrapbooks.

If the paper is not lignin-free, it will eventually discolor
your photos and other materials touching it. So when buying
paper for your scrapbooking projects, be sure to look for
packages that say "lignin-free," because if it doesn't say
it, then it most likely isn't.

Fabric is a big concern for preserving your scrapbooks, but
unfortunately it is often overlooked. Many people assume
that all fabrics are acid-free, but they aren't. Silk
actually goes through an acid bath during the manufacturing
process, as well as many tie-dyed fabrics. This isn't to
discourage you from using it, not all. Just try to make
sure that no photos directly touch fabric, and if you need
them to overlap, make sure there is a layer of paper between
the two.

Another consideration when using fabrics is if the color
will bleed off onto your page and other things touching it.
To test for this, cut a square inch off and soak it in a
glass of water over night. If there is no color bleeding
from it the next day, then there isn't any risk to your
scrapbook. But if you do see color in the water, or
collecting at the bottom of the glass then don't use that
fabric in your scrapbook at all.

When using glitter, be sure there is a top layer of spray
adhesive to lock them down, or better yet use special
glitter glue where the glitter is mixed right in. If this is
not done right the glitter will slowly fall off, and loose
glitter means scratched photos.

After you have planned the layout for your photos, be sure
that you are using the right kind of mounting tape for them!
Regular mounting tape is fine for buttons and bottle caps,
but when it come to mounting photos you need to use special
photo mounting tape which is completely acid-free. If you
don't, your photos will slowly discolor. The tape should
say "acid-free" right on the packaging.

These are just a few simple things you can do to ensure that
your scrapbooks last and last.

Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Ernie

Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Ernie
Giggles are impossible to resist with the popular "Tickle Me" pals. Touch their bellies to send them into uncontrollable fits of laughter accompanied by funny phrases.

Press Ernie's belly and kick around on the floor while laughing and blurting out hilarious comments -- then watch your preschooler do the same! Requires 4 "AA" batteries, not included. Measures 11" tall.

Customer Review: I love it but

I love this toy but some times it scares the hell out of me when it starts playing by it self while I am sleeping. Reminds me of Chuky but in a good way

Customer Review: "Possessed" Ernie

We have the Tickle Me Elmo and our 21 month old loves it, so my husband ordered Tickle Me Ernie thinking it'd make a great addition. Ack! Ernie scared the crap out of our son! Unlike Elmo, he doesn't have a cute little laugh and shake. Tickle Me Ernie is, for lack of a better word, possessed. He spins on the floor and shakes like he's having a seizure, then jumps back up, freaking the hell out of you. Perhaps this is just me. It looks like lots of other reviewers here love this thing. But my idea of fun (and my son's, apparently), is not epilepsy Ernie.

Customer Review: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Inside Out

I found that this book contained information and detail that exceeded what would turn up in a typical web search. The book devotes around 200 pages just to AD. I have several books and this one actually gets used!

Customer Review: Excellent writing style, comprehensive coverage

As a comprehensive Windows Server 2003 reference, there is no comparison as far as I'm concerned. Quality shines throughout the book and it is obviously the product of extensive research and lots of realworld experience. Stanek takes some pretty bland subject matter like DNS, Active Directory, and optimization and makes it understandable. This book made many things clearer for me, and I actually enjoyed reading it. Explanations are so much detailed that you can actually configure your system step by step by following the book. Also discusses the underlying technology in a detailed conceptual way, that gave me the overall understanding and insight of what really is going on. If you are trying to learn or working with Windows networks, this book is a must. The book never makes you confused, and virtually all aspects of networking are covered. You really cannot go wrong with this book it is well worth the money.

It's got home mechanic information about civics, but I wish the descriptions and the instructions had more detail. It needs better pictures too.

The Transformers - The Movie (20th Anniversary Special Edition)

The Transformers - The Movie (20th Anniversary Special Edition)
During the 1980s, one cartoon series ruled the airwaves... The Transformers. This paragon of consumerism was created with a dual purpose--to entertain and to galvanize children to buy the toys. Somewhere along the line, the show became a cult favorite, so in 1986 they fashioned an epic tale of good versus evil specifically for the big screen. The result looked vaguely like an animated remake of Star Wars. Who are the Transformers? The good guys are the Autobots: Optimus Prime, SoundWave, Jazz, Ultra Magnus, and many more. Their mortal enemies are the evil Decepticons, led by Megatron and StarScream. The Autobots must save their home planet from an evil entity known as Unicron (voiced by Orson Welles). At the same time, they must defend themselves from an all-out attack from the Decepticons. Along the way, lives are lost, battles are fought, and a new Autobot leader is born as another dies. The story and action never stop in a thrilling ride that often makes you forget that you're watching an '80s cartoon with inferior graphics. The violence will also come as a mild shock to those who haven't seen this film for a while--definitely a movie for the 8 and over audience. For those who grew up on this series, this is a movie that must be watched. Unlike cartoon serials before and after, The Transformers relied on solid stories and interesting characters, a manifesto the film itself upholds with gusto and grace while also being morally responsible. Don't underestimate this movie; there is definitely more to it than meets the eye. --Jeremy Storey

Customer Review: Transformer (Cartoon)

I gave this product as a Christmas present and got a fantastic response. I have watched it and it is great. The cartoon is a great review and just plain fun to watch before or after watching the new "Transformers" movie.

DO ENJOY!!!!

Customer Review: Great stroll down memory lane, good cartoon artwork, a little cheesy dialogue

I assume if you're looking at this product, it's because you saw it back in the day, or you saw the new live-action movie (2007) and are catching up on old stuff.

So for what it is, which is an old cartoon, put into a fairly ambitious cartoon movie for its time, it's awesome. If you're hoping to find something on par with the live-action movie, you'll be disappointed.

I grew up with Transformers and saw the movie originally in the theater. I loved it. Sometimes when you go back to things like this, they aren't as good as you remember - this isn't the case. Yes, the dialogue is a little cheesy at times; yes, the plot is a little thin; but the artwork is great, and it's freakin' Transformers for crying out loud, and the story concept is pretty grand in scale.

I recommend it for true fans of Transformers old and new.

LightWedge Paperback

LightWedge Paperback
PB100 LightWedge Paperback - The LightWedge is a reading aid that combines eye-friendly LED illumination with an acrylic lens that's bright, and unobtrusive to those near you. Here's how it works. A handle is connected to a rectangular acrylic lens, and with the push of a button, LED light shines through the acrylic to illuminate the page. Perfect for traveling at night or enjoying a ripping good yarn while lying next to that special someone at home. Energy efficient LEDs give you a whopping 40 hours of light on just 4 AAA batteries! (not included)

Customer Review: Very Pleased

I am very happy with my reading light,it is everything I hoped,I use it all the time.

Customer Review: very good reading light

This is a really good reading light. My sister got one for Christmas and I thought it would be really cool to have one. It's a lot better than a flashlight because you don't have to hold it, you just set it on the page. The only thing that I didn't like about it is that the batteries were a little tough getting in the cartridge and the light isn't distributed as evenly as I would like across the page, but both of those can easily be compromised. Even so, I recommend buying it, it's a great product.

Buying books online - isn't Amazon the best value?

Everybody wants good value when they buy books online - especially expensive ones. And everyone knows that people like Amazon have transformed book buying to provide everyone with better value than bookshops and other booksellers.

Don't they? Haven't they?

Not exactly. I am telling you because I should know. I too am a trader. I get the same prices, presumably, as Amazon from the publishing houses. They may even get a bigger discount from me becuase they buy in bulk for their thousands of customers. So how can I charge less than me?

Is it because they add apostage charge of around 3 to all orders under around 39? Most paperback books are around 6.99. If you look at Amazon's description of the book it may say "Our price 5.59. You save 20%". You are then invited to "buy now".

So you are saving 1.40 on the price you would pay in a bookshop but then paying 3 postage. That makes the price 1.60 MORE than the bookshop price. That's the smallest village bookshop you can find, remember. Are you really going to order 39 worth of books at once? Can your credit card stand it?

But are Amazon making a loss by offering you a 20% discount in the first place? Not on your life. They often get 35% discount. So they paid around 4.50 a book they are then asking you to pay 5.59. How many people buying a popular book does it take for them to cover their costs and make a profit even if they DIDN'T charge you 3 postage.

But they do charge you that. So its not even a question of making a small profit or loss on each sale and hoping selling to lots of people gets them a discount on their postage bill - which it usually does.

So how much should you pay? Well, we would make a profit on that 6.99 book with 35% discount to us from the publisher by charging you 5.75 INCLUDING POSTAGE.

So, please. Don't think you're not paying shop prices rather than discount prices. And I mean corner shop inflated prices, not Wal Mart sell it cheap prices.

We welcome any enquiries if oyu want more facts on the subject. Email us at books_and_beyond@businessmailbox.com.

I am a mail order bookseller based in London, UK. I have 15 years experience in the book trade which developed from my own need to have a continous range of good and value books available as a bookseller. My company supplies books online and can be contacted at books_and_beyond@businessmailbox.com for more information.

"What Do I Sell?"Shahnaz Rauf

"What Do I Sell?"

Copyright [C] 2003 Shahnaz Rauf, www.snzeport.com

What do I sell? This is a very critical question that I get asked very often. Yes there are loads of people out there who have obtained all the right online marketing tools, they have learned all the concepts and techniques of online marketing, yet they don`t know what to sell. Yes they keep shuffling along from program to program hoping to strike it rich somewhere. They loose a lot of money along the way to ultimately get disillusioned.

Now If you plan to operate on the internet, your first and foremost product should be yourself.

Yes, you are your own product. You need to sell yourself to develop trust and credibility the basic elements for any sales process. To do so you need to develop your own mailing list. This is not just a list of email addresses, this is a highly responsive list of followers who trust and respect you to the core.

Once you have got such a killer list, you may proceed to

- Recommend other People`s tried and tested quality products and earn through affiliate commissions.

- You can sell advertising space in your newsletter.

- Or you may even convert your list into a paid membership site or a monthly subscription based list.

- And ultimately Develop your own product line.

Of course there are people earning incredible fortunes just by selling other peoples products, but such top affiliates are really few and far between, countable on your fingers they also usually have huge lists with a trusted set of followers.

But to reach the ultimate bliss in marketing you need to develop your own product line. Here the big question is

How do you come up with your own killer product line? here is the basic procedure:

1. Define What you really want to do

Here your own interest or what you really want to do is important. You may not be able to attain any great heights without that spark of passion driving you along. Also you do not want to get stuck in another dead end project where even getting started becomes a big challenge. So the all defining question is What do you enjoy doing? Or rather,

What can you do effortlessly without taxing yourself too much work on your strengths and weaknesses, which ones can you polish up to use successfully.

Once you have sorted out your own inner turmoil and discovered what you really want to do, you have got your niche category or boundaries of operation. Next you need to proceed with the equally important second step:

2. What do the people want?

Or rather what do your potential customers want. To be able to sell successfully you have to find a problem/ need within your niche and provide the perfect solution. So here comes the part of doing the market research. No dont be turned off, online market research may not be as complicated as the offline version.

How To develop your own killer product:

- One conventional technique is to organize a questionnaire/ quiz/ Survey and promote it.

- Another way is to lurk in forums related to your area of interest and find out what people are talking about. What problems they have and work out a solution.

- Yet another powerful way is to capitalize on the concept of keywords. Discover what words or phrases are most frequently searched on the various search engines, what information are people desperately looking for. Here are some tools to help you out:

http://www.goodkeywords.com - fr*ee software to enable you get all the keywords relevant to your area of interest.

http://www.wordtracker.com - You can get a fr*ee weekly report of the top 500 frequently searched words on the Internet.

http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ - Here you can check the popularity/ how many searches are being made for any keyword of your choice.

Once you have short listed your search terms, use these terms on the search engines yourself, visit all the sites that come up and find out what is the missing element that you can capitalize on.

- OK you have hit the raw nerve. Now do some brain storming/ mind mapping to work out what kind of information/ software/ website is needed. You may get incredible professional assistance to develop your product from http://www.elance.com

Now here are some insider tips for you to get your creative juices flowing:

-All the newbies on the net are desperately searching for some realistic sure fire way to start earning a decent income easily and immediately.

- All the oldbies with websites or products are searching for new ways to advertise/ market effectively and cheaply.

- Also another killer idea/product is desperately needed to overcome the hegemony and over exposure of email marketing. As frankly the average person is not usually cut out to handle developing huge responsive mailing lists. And now the ugly sp*m filters overtones ringing in the back ground are heralding the impending failure of email marketing.

A brain wave anyone?

Customer Review: Great Classic

Another great job by disney restoring this movie. Love the extras on the dvd like the game and the music video.

Customer Review: Good Movie for what it is

Like many I enjoyed this movie as a kid and I still think of it as a good movie. However as an advisory to those who have kids I pass along this advice. This is one of the big animated disney films based on a literary classic that takes liberty with the ending. Disney knows that its primary audience loves the happy ending. It is my feeling that had disney told the actual story of the little mermaid then this film would not have been as popular. When the mermaid becomes human it is a literally painful experience every step that she takes hurst and feels as if she is walking on needles. The mermaid also dies at the end of the book because the one she loves falls for someone else.

Now before any of you get on to me and think I'm bursting peoples enjoyment, I'm not. I enjoy this movie for what it is. Even though the ending is not the correct one I will say that disney does do a good job at keeping the overall story intact. The one thing that disney is going to take into consideration is that if it is going to do more animated movies on literary classics then they need to make sure that the ending is a happy one because that is what its audience on a regular basis expects the studio to deliver.

"What Do I Sell?"

Google's Books May Make You Wobble

Google is expected to open its books this week. Will it be revealed that they are making more money than they allure too?

No matter what the numbers say, other search engines namely Yahoo and Microsoft(MSN) are eager to find out what they are. Since the secretive Google has been able to hide behind being a private company.

They hope to find clues on what Googles profits are and possibly how much money Google spends on technology for their search engine. All in the desire to get their own share of the Online Search Market.

It is expected that Google makes more than they say each time someone uses their engine. Indicating that there is possibly plenty of cash for all interested in the search engine game. Even if they are smaller players offering 'niche' services.

Yahoo who has approximately 5% of a stake in Google, anticipates that there is plenty of room for both Google and Yahoo to thrive with search engine services.

Larry Page one of Googles founders told Reuters recently that he expects online search to be a "healthy market with many companies".

Even Microsoft, seeing that Yahoo is breaking away from Google and coming up with their own Yahoo Slurp is also hard at work trying to design a better search engine in MSN and expects to offer a better way to search as early as July.

All this in trying to get a piece of the over $6 billion dollar search engine advertising pie. Plus the hopes of making search engine results more useful to surfers.

We all know that Google makes money with Google Adwords by displaying results along side or on top of search results. Now Google is announcing their own email service which will also provide even more revenue by having advertisements along side email messages.

The Security and Exhange Commission is most likely going to require Google to show their books. Since they expect that Google has over $10 million in assets and possibly over 500 equity holders.

The bottom line is whether Google makes an initial public offering or not. Their financial disclosures will hopefully show that there is plently of room for all to have their share of the search engine market.

Risk

Risk
In this classic game of military strategy, you will lead your armies as they sweep across vast continents to launch daring attacks against your enemies. But keep an eye on your flanks: your opponents are fighting to capture your troops and claim your territories. Reinforce your armies with additional infantry, cavalry and artillery, then attack with a throw of the dice. Now fortify your positions and prepare to defend your borders from rivals' attacks. Capture all 42 territories - and you conquer the world! Are you up to the challenge' Then embark on the classic Risk game of World Domination. For more challenge, use the rules variations for experts. And for a shorter variation, try the Capital Risk game. For the first time, Risk includes the European game variation called Secret Mission Risk, whose special cards give each player a specific "mission" to complete to win the game. So join the battle to conquer the world... and learn why, since 1959, millions of players have made Risk the military strategy game of choice. For 2 to 6 players. Game includes: game board; 5 battle dice; deck of 44 Risk cards and 12 secret mission cards; 6 sets of military miniatures: infantry, cavalry, artillery.

Customer Review: Risk

This is a game that take a great deal of time to play, but it causes your mind to work as you progress through the levels.

The sudden turn of events will always keep the players on edge.

Customer Review: Good game - but I miss the army boxes

We bought this game of risk to replace our old game, which was lost in a move. There are several differences in the new risk and the old risk. One difference is the mission cards. At first I was disapointed that the mission cards were not the same as the old risk, but after playing a few games, I admit that it is just as much fun. The other difference with the game is the lack of army boxes. The old game came with a clear plastic box to store each army color in. This game does not have boxes, just wells in the box to store each color. The clear boxes were quite useful during the game as you spend a lot of time taking armies out and putting armies in the box as you lose or gain reinforcements. I find the lack of boxes a pain as pieces fall on the floor etc. when you just have them piled on the table. However, it is still a great game and we are happy with this version.

Tot Tutors Book Rack Organizer
Customer Review: Review for Tot Tutors Book Rack Organizer

I had high hopes for this cute book rack for kids. But within a week one seam on the nylon fabric had split and shredded rendering 25% of the rack unusable. And, no, I didn't overload the rack. There were only 3 lightweight books in that slot. I'm not sure if it was a defect or poor quality fabric. It's not worth sending back as the shipping would amount to more than the benefit. I'll probably buy sturdier fabric and replace the nylon as the wood part of the rack seems to be ok.

Great flick. Easy for you to watch with the hubby while he appreciates the gift!!!

Customer Review: Well made but not exactly Revisionist History

Plenty of talent on hand. Swazee comes off

best in here as Southern fighting for his

land (and later country), but badly stereo-

typed rest of cast (except for Leslie Ann

Down), especially Alley, Carradine and many

blacks (how about the Buckwheat meets Fred

Williamson act by Forrest Whitaker?!) hurts

overall production. Beautifully filmed and

edited like the sorry Broke Back Mountain,

but wastes too much time inputting the Pro-

ideas. Yes, there are several redeeming

(white and black Southerns in here; especi-

ally Washington and Sally Reemus) but there

never was any guy named Bent who tried to

"off" CSA Pres. Jeff Davis, who is played

very well by Lloyd Bridges(, who comes off

much better than small-faced Hal Holbrook

as Lincoln). Also, where are the blacks that

fought for the Confederacy?! There where 100,

Customer Review: Solid, quiet and fast

I've had this for a little over a month now, and have been using it in a mirrored RAID configuration. It is currently serving as my TimeMachine backup destination, and as the storage for my media server. It's nice and fast, and quiet enough that it does not distract from watching movies or listening to music. Additionally, it looks quite nice on my bookshelf.

I would recommend this drive to anyone, and will most definitely buy another when this fills up.

Customer Review: Terrific Drive

This is my second My Book drive; I liked my 500G one so much that I had to upgrade to the 2T with RAID and I am very impressed with the performance. Installation is really easy and the drive is fast and reliable. It automatically sleeps if you don't access it for a while and wakes up when you need it so it's energy efficient too. Works fine on all the interfaces but Firewire 800 is obviously the best. No negatives at all.

Customer Review: Plastic sleeves

I had planned to purchase this item, but didn't after reading the reviews on Target's website. This item has plastic sleeves, not canvas. I will continue to look for a similar product with more longevity.

Customer Review: awesome!

this is an awesome cd even for old people like us (in our 50's). Amy Winehouse is an unusual young lady with an interesting voice and character. We love her retro music. Plus the cd came in record time from Amazon. Thanks!

Customer Review: what a dissapointment

i looked forward to receiving this c.d.

seeing ms. winehouse on t.v. made me curious as to how well she performed.

sufficient to say i was not happy with the c.d. as a whole.

she has great talent, is unusual and has a shot at super stardom. i hope she doesn't drown in her own negativity. both professionaly nor personaly.

North & South Book I (VHS, 6 videos)

North & South Book I (VHS, 6 videos)
Customer Review: Hubby pleaser

Great flick. Easy for you to watch with the hubby while he appreciates the gift!!!

Customer Review: Well made but not exactly Revisionist History

Plenty of talent on hand. Swazee comes off

best in here as Southern fighting for his

land (and later country), but badly stereo-

typed rest of cast (except for Leslie Ann

Down), especially Alley, Carradine and many

blacks (how about the Buckwheat meets Fred

Williamson act by Forrest Whitaker?!) hurts

overall production. Beautifully filmed and

edited like the sorry Broke Back Mountain,

but wastes too much time inputting the Pro-

ducer (especially Dave Wolper, I'm told...)

ideas. Yes, there are several redeeming

(white and black Southerns in here; especi-

ally Washington and Sally Reemus) but there

never was any guy named Bent who tried to

"off" CSA Pres. Jeff Davis, who is played

very well by Lloyd Bridges(, who comes off

much better than small-faced Hal Holbrook

as Lincoln). Also, where are the blacks that

fought for the Confederacy?! There where 100,

000 more than fought for the Yanks during the

war between the states. Also, no mention of

white or Indian indentured servants! Oh well,

that's Hollyweird for ya, Y'all! Long live

the South! But go to atlanticbullionandcoin

I Didn't Know These Are Slowly Destroying My Scrapbooks!

Once you spend your precious time and energy creating a scrapbook, make sure it lasts! There are a few simple things you can easily do to ensure that your scrapbooks look just as good as the day you finished them, for years to come.

The first thing to avoid is paper that is not lignin-free. You've probably heard that before, and it is true, but what is lignin anyways? Lignin is a stiff component of a plant that quite literally holds it together. Although lignin is necessary for plants and trees, you want nothing to do with it! After a while, lignin will cause photos, fabrics and other paper that touch it to turn brown. Yes, lignin-free paper does cost more, but it is a vital part of preserving your cherished scrapbooks.

If the paper is not lignin-free, it will eventually discolor your photos and other materials touching it. So when buying paper for your scrapbooking projects, be sure to look for packages that say "lignin-free," because if it doesn't say it, then it most likely isn't.

Fabric is a big concern for preserving your scrapbooks, but unfortunately it is often overlooked. Many people assume that all fabrics are acid-free, but they aren't. Silk actually goes through an acid bath during the manufacturing process, as well as many tie-dyed fabrics. This isn't to discourage you from using it, not all. Just try to make sure that no photos directly touch fabric, and if you need them to overlap, make sure there is a layer of paper between the two.

Another consideration when using fabrics is if the color will bleed off onto your page and other things touching it. To test for this, cut a square inch off and soak it in a glass of water over night. If there is no color bleeding from it the next day, then there isn't any risk to your scrapbook. But if you do see color in the water, or collecting at the bottom of the glass then don't use that fabric in your scrapbook at all.

When using glitter, be sure there is a top layer of spray adhesive to lock them down, or better yet use special glitter glue where the glitter is mixed right in. If this is not done right the glitter will slowly fall off, and loose glitter means scratched photos.

After you have planned the layout for your photos, be sure that you are using the right kind of mounting tape for them! Regular mounting tape is fine for buttons and bottle caps, but when it come to mounting photos you need to use special photo mounting tape which is completely acid-free. If you don't, your photos will slowly discolor. The tape should say "acid-free" right on the packaging.

These are just a few simple things you can do to ensure that your scrapbooks last and last.

Customer Review: Smallville - still so good!

I really liked this season. It was different - more serious and unforunately there are less of the humorous nuggets, but still some zingers. I wish they would include a gag reel in the special features. The 2nd and 3rd seasons gag reels were comedy gold! Yes, some fans thought this season was a little soap operaish, but it was plain goo-goo eyes fun. Don't take it too seriously and you'll really enjoy it. I won't go into the plot, because I'm sure you can read that in any other review but all in all, it was very entertaining.

Customer Review: Good but is lacking...

I loved the first few seasons. With season 4,5 and now 6, this show is lacking the luster it once had. don't get me wrong, it's still a good show but the latter seasons just aren't as good as the first 3. I think it's about to or already has jumped the shark.

Top Ten Ways to Promote Your Books Through Flyers

Top Ten Ways to Promote Your Books Through Flyers
Judy Cullins 2005 All Rights Reserved.

A flyer is an excellent, inexpensive way to promote your book. What makes one flyer so much better than another? Use these top10 tips to make your flyer stand out from the crowd.

1. Include a colored picture of your front cover.

People want to see what your book looks like. Color is great, but not always necessary. Make sure your colored book cover copies well in black and white. If you do use color, make your book cover background white with colored lettering, so you don't go through a $35 ink cartridge too fast.

2. Hook your prospective buyers with the headline in the top line of your flyer just as you do for your back cover.

Here's a few gems: Why Not Publish Yourself? Read About SEX as it Really Is! Imagine Thousands of Readers Buying your Book Next Month! Quadruple your Income in Four Months! Give your audience a reason to buy--Show those benefits in the headline and in bullet form..

3. Include some juicy excerpts from your book.

Prospective buyers want to see a sample of your writing, especially if it's fiction. Use an analogy or short story to illustrate your book's main point if non-fiction.

4. Include your picture with a brief biography near it.

People want to see what the author looks like. Place it on the right side of the flyer if possible.

5. Add praise from others.

Testimonials are the most significant way to market your book. The praise doesn't have to be from famous people. Use a man/woman on the street opinion. One client/author added a testimonial from a convict! These can go on the back of the flyer.

6. Put ordering information on a coupon at the flyer's bottom.

Include your book's ISBN number, Web site URL, your email, toll-free number and other information you want your reader to know.

7. Make it easy for your reader to buy.

Offer easy ways to buy: credit cards, checks, downloading directly Online at your Web site, or money orders. Include your toll-free 800-number. Many prefer a coupon they can fill out and mail or fax.

8. Give your prospective buyers all the ways to stay in touch with you.

Some people will not buy Online. While most small business people are Web savvy, it's a good idea to include your street address, e-mail, local phone and fax number, and 800 number.

9. Carry at least 25 flyers with you in a folder at all times.

Keep them in your car, so that when you pass a place that will post them for you, they are handy. Give one to every person you meet. Remember the "law of seven." After seven exposures, you have a buyer! Flyers are better than a business card because they have more detailed information on them to help the potential buyer make a more educated decision.

10. Use the backside of the flyer.

You really waste this space if you don't put it to use. Multiply buying results with more testimonials on the back. Include a longer excerpt from your book there.

Your flyer is a detailed extension of you and your book, and one of the least expensive ways to market your book through print. Print hundreds, even thousands, so your book buying public can easily purchase your book.

Ironman Deluxe Reading Rack

Ironman Deluxe Reading Rack
Customer Review: Flawed design

This is the first product that I have purchased through Amazon that is flawed in its design. I saw other reviews that said it was flimsy, but I thought I could deal with their perceptions. The clamp and support structure are flimsy. The main support tubing is made as a "T" in which the two extension arms are not long enough to prevent them from sliding out of the "T" !!! If you are not handy at refining such mechanical marvels, then I suggest you look at other manufacturers for your book holder.

Customer Review: works well

does what it is supposed to do but not as sturdy as i thought it would be

over all tho i am satisfied with the product

Saitek P990 Dual Analog Game Pad

Saitek P990 Dual Analog Game Pad
Instantly configure your pad's controls to the perfect set-up for First Person Shooter games with a single button press. The ergonomic controls with soft touch handles increase grip and comfort during hours of gameplay. Advanced programming is provided by Saitek Smart Technology (SST) software. System Requirement: Windows XP & XP64

Customer Review: Not as good as the last one, but...

I bought this controller to replace my old Saitek P880, the previous iteration of this controller, which finally gave out on me after four years of abuse.

For the most part this is still a good, solid controller, except for one factor - The D-pad, compared to the one on my P880, feels incredibly cheap and sometimes sticks, and did so right out of the box. The feel of the other buttons is similar or identical, but the D-pad is rather annoying for games I use it in when it triggers. Mind you, it's maybe one time out of a hundred and fifty or so, but still annoying when it happens.

For the record, I use the controller for the games Phantasy Star Universe and Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, which are both third-person action games, and the d-pad is used only for menus. For what it's worth, if you play Phantasy Star Universe, this is the only controller I've found that actually has enough buttons for all the functions you can map to a controller, finally removing my need to still use the keyboard for certain things.

If you like controllers with six face buttons rather than the four-button layout that seems to be more common, this is a good one to get, just mind that there can be issues with the D-pad. If your game doesn't use the D-pad, then there isn't a problem I can think of.

Customer Review: Solid control but poor programming software

Overall i am pleased with this gamepad. It works great as long as the game itself has a good control setup of its own as i found the downloadable programming software to be somewhat frustrating. it really isn't very user friendly or pretty(just a minor grip). for some reason assigned buttons just randomly won't do what they are supposed to and have to be reassigned and then still might not work. it shouldn't be difficult or take this much effort to program a controller. however once setup it is very nice.
